Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Member Forum
The CLD Standards Council Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Member Forum provides a supportive and collaborative space for members to explore, discuss and advance equality, diversity and inclusion across Community Learning and Development (CLD) practice.
Bringing together practitioners who are committed to creating a more inclusive, representative and equitable CLD workforce and sector, the forum promotes professional dialogue, shared learning and the exchange of good practice relating to the nine protected characteristics defined within the Equality Act 2010:
- age
- disability
- gender reassignment
- marriage and civil partnership
- pregnancy
- maternity
- race
- religion or belief
- sex
- and sexual orientation
Through regular discussions and networking opportunities, members can explore the experiences of individuals and communities, identify barriers to participation and progression, and consider practical approaches to promoting equality and inclusion in CLD settings.
The EDI Member Forum supports the CLD Standards Council’s commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion by providing insight into the lived experiences of practitioners and learners, helping to inform policy, professional learning and sector development. It also provides a platform to highlight emerging issues, share resources and showcase effective practice that supports fair access, representation and participation across the CLD profession.
By encouraging open conversation, reflection and collective action, the forum contributes to a CLD sector that values diversity, challenges discrimination and fosters a sense of belonging for all. Membership is open to Registered or Associate members, offering opportunities to learn from others, share experiences and help drive positive change across the profession and the communities it serves.
