Rural CLD Practitioner Network
The CLD Standards Council Rural Practitioner Network brings together Community Learning and Development (CLD) practitioners from rural and island communities across Scotland to connect, collaborate and share practice. The network provides a dedicated space for practitioners to discuss the opportunities and challenges of delivering CLD in rural contexts, where geography, population distribution, transport, digital connectivity and access to services can significantly influence practice.
The network aims to strengthen professional learning, support peer networking and amplify the voice of rural practitioners within the wider CLD sector. Through regular meetings, discussions and knowledge-sharing opportunities, members can exchange ideas, highlight innovative approaches and explore solutions to common issues affecting rural communities.
The network also plays an important role in informing the work of the CLD Standards Council by providing insight into the realities of rural practice and identifying emerging trends, needs and priorities. By fostering collaboration and promoting good practice, the Rural Practitioner Network contributes to the development of a confident, connected and professionally supported rural CLD workforce.
Membership is open to CLD Standards Council Registered and Associate members who are practising or interested in rural and island practice, creating opportunities to learn from colleagues, build professional relationships and contribute to the ongoing development of CLD across Scotland's diverse rural communities.
