LEAD Scotland Strategy 2027-2031 Consultation Response – September 2026
The CLD Standards Council submitted a response to LEAD Scotland's consultation on the development of its 2027-2031 organisational strategy. Our response was informed by an online "Have Your Say" session with members, featuring colleagues from LEAD Scotland, which created an opportunity for open discussion about the organisation's future direction and its contribution to CLD.
The session brought together practitioners and partners from across Scotland to share experiences, identify common challenges and explore opportunities for greater collaboration. Members particularly valued the chance to engage directly with LEAD Scotland, discuss the role of CLD in supporting learners and communities, and consider how organisations can work more effectively together to address shared priorities.
The insights shared during the session, together with feedback from members and staff, have helped shape our response, which focuses on areas most closely connected to CLD policy, values, and professional practice. We highlight opportunities for LEAD Scotland to strengthen its links with the wider CLD sector through partnership working, workforce development, professional learning and a clear commitment to the values, ethics and competences that underpin high-quality CLD practice.
As the professional registration and standards body (PRSB) for CLD in Scotland, we welcome the opportunity to contribute to the development of LEAD Scotland's future strategy and look forward to continuing conversations that support shared learning, stronger partnerships and positive outcomes for practitioners, learners and communities across Scotland.
