Who can join
Registration is free and open to all CLD practitioners, whether working in a paid or voluntary capacity, who are committed to continuing professional learning and to upholding the standards that underpin the sector. Members are expected to demonstrate the:
- values
- principles
- competences
- code of ethics
There are currently 2 membership categories.
Why CLD matters
CLD empowers people, individually and collectively, to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities through learning.
CLD is delivered in diverse settings and sectors, by practitioners with a wide variety of job titles and volunteer roles, supporting people of all ages.
You are CLD if you:
- support Community Development (build capacity of communities to meet needs, engaging with and influencing decision makers)
- provide Youth Work, family learning and other early intervention work with children, young people and families
- support community-based Adult Learning, including adult literacie sand English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
- support learning for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the community, for example, people with disabilities, care leavers or offenders
- currently study a CLD course
